aims and goals of saap
The overall aim of SAAP, as stated in the SAAP Act 1994, is to
provide transitional supported accommodation and a range of related
support services, in order to help people who are homeless or at
risk of homelessness to achieve the maximum possible degree of self-reliance
and independence. Within this aim, the goals of SAAP are to:
- resolve crisis;
- re-establish family links where appropriate; and
- re-establish the capacity of clients to live independently of
SAAP.

strategic themes
A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Commonwealth, States
and Territories commit all signatories to four strategic themes
as priority areas for action over the five year agreement. These
include:
- Client-focussed service delivery.
- Integration and collaboration between SAAP and other service
systems.
- Increasing performance, knowledge and skills.
- Commonwealth, State and Territory Governments working in partnership
with the community.
