community engagement
Every day the Department of Health and Community Services engages with Territorians as a service provider, in forming policy and in promoting a healthy lifestyle.
The Territory’s complex health and wellbeing issues can’t be solved by a single department acting alone. The opinions and knowledge of the community, non-government organisations and other agencies matter. Together, we need to take responsibility for solving problems, meeting challenges and building healthier communities.
A commitment to community engagement and public accountability underpins the Government’s five-year framework for health and community services, Building Healthier Communities 2004-2009.
