Interim Data Collection Tool
Predominantly there are two methods for the Health Services KPI data collection in DHF Health Centres. As PCIS is implemented across DHF Health Centres, data will primarily be captured by PCIS. During the implementation phase for PCIS, an Interim Data Collection Tool is used to capture KPI data for Health Centres using paper based medical records. This Tool will be used in Health Centres until it is replaced by PCIS which provides for automated data, and the Interim Data Collection Tool will be redundant.
The AHKPI Interim Data Collection Tool has been endorsed by the DHF Remote Health Branch to be implemented in 26 community health centres managed by DHF in remote areas until it can be replaced by the Primary Care Information System (PCIS) that is currently being rolled out to all DHF remote health centres.
Their community aggregated KPI data will be able to be extracted locally for delivery to the AHKPI central repository while the collected unit data will be controlled by community health centres themselves.
The Interim Data Collection Tool User Manual provides guidance to staff using the tool. It includes a description of all fields on the database and detailed information related to requirements for entering data.
