Marketing, Communications and Secretariat

The Marketing, Communications and Secretariat Unit provides a broad range of marketing, communications and media services to all areas of the Department of Planning and Infrastructure, as well as provide a high quality ministerial liaison service to the Minister’s Office, the Chief Executive Officer and the Department.

 

Our core Marketing and Communications services include:

  • Preparation of strategic marketing and communications strategies
  • Manage and develop internal communications strategies
  • Media management, liaison and training
  • Advertising and feature management
  • Creative design and concept development
  • Writing of a broad range of material
  • Web management including Internet and intranet maintenance and development
  • Management of events, launches and displays
    Production of publications
  • Co-ordination of merchandise and other promotional collateral
  • Sponsorship management
  • Campaign management
  • Liaison with the Minister’s office on media, marketing and communications issues.

 

The Secretariat function of the unit provides the following services:

  • Coordinate and assist in the preparation of ministerial correspondence between the Department and the Minister’s Office including: Cabinet Submissions, Executive Council Submissions, Legislative Assembly briefings.
  • Act as a central point of contact for and coordinating on a Departmental-wide basis, responses to formal and ad-hoc requests from the Minister’s Office, Cabinet Office and other Agencies.
  • Provide high level secretariat, special project and executive support services to the Chief Executive Officer and the Executive Management Board.
  • Coordinate on a Departmental-wide basis and act as a central focus for information in relation to: Ministerial, Government and Corporate policy; Government election commitments; Business Round Table; Community Cabinet; and Statutory Bodies.
  • Assist in the timely and accurate provision of advice, adhering to protocol and formatting requirements.
  • Maintain an archival and retrieval service of ministerial correspondence between the Department and the Minister’s Office.

 

The unit’s structure is twelve permanent positions.
