A few years ago, an artificial
reef was created and a fishing platform constructed on the
eastern end of Stokes Hill Wharf for the use of recreational
fishermen. An exclusion zone applies to boats around this
artificial reef to provide fishermen on the wharf with more
opportunity for catching fish. Some of the more common species
to be found off the wharf are jewfish, trevally, moon-fish,
flat-head, catfish, as well as the occasional eel! Fishermen
can drop a line all along Stokes Hill Wharf, except past the
eatery areas, which we maintain as a dining zone only.
