Youth Minister's Round Table of Young TerritoriansWhat is the Round Table?The Youth Minister's Round Table of Young Territorians is a direct communication avenue between young Territorians and the Northern Territory Government. The Round Table consists of 16 members who are aged 15 to 25 years. Round Table members are representative of the geographic, cultural and ethnic diversity in the Northern Territory. Why have a Round Table?The Round Table is your chance to get involved and have your views heard by the Minister for Young Territorians about issues that interest or affect you. What has the Round Table accomplished?Round Table members since 1997 have been involved in numerous activities, committees and projects. Below is a small list of achievements by Round Table members:

NewslettersAfter each meeting, the Youth Round Table produces a newsletter, Round about the NT, which is distributed widely across the Territory.
How often do they meet?The Round Table meets four times a year with Minister for Young Territorians or her nominated representative. Round Table members communicate regularly with each other at least once a month. How do you get on the Round Table?If you are interested in applying for the Round Table, you need to complete and return the Round Table Application Form. All applications for the Round Table require one written reference of support. This could be a letter from a school principal, employer, community group, youth organisation, etc. If you are shortlisted, you will be invited to an interview at OYA. At the interview, you will be asked to expand on issues raised in your application. The interviews are normally conducted in November each year, and the applicants are advised in early February. How much will it cost?It will cost nothing. OYA pays for the travel, accommodation and sitting fees. All meeting expenses are arranged and paid for by OYA. What does the NT Office of Youth Affairs do for the Round Table? OYA provides administrative support and advice to the Round Table and its members.
