Make sure that young people are able to participate in decisions that affect their lives

It is important to give young people opportunities to become involved in how Government makes decisions and designs programs and services. Involvement in decision-making empowers young people, develops individual capabilities and strengths and helps young people shape the community. There are lots of ways that young Territorians can get involved in decision-making and we’ve got information on some of these here.

So, come on, make the most of these opportunities to show the rest of the community what you can do and to help shape your future!

Handbook for young Territorians

The Office of Youth Affairs is pleased to introduce You did what? How young Territorians can make things happen in the community. The handbook is filled with over 20 big ideas for young people on how to take action on issues they feel strongly about. Click here for a copy of the handbook. For a CD of the handbook, please contact the Office of Youth Affairs on 1800 652 736.
