On the first of July each year Territorians celebrate Territory Day, marking the commencement of Self Government in the Territory on 1 July 1978. The day is celebrated across the Northern Territory in a number of ways, including the famous Territory Day fireworks (both public and private).

Sausage sizzle by Dundee Beach Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade - drinks available.
Commencing 6pm. All welcome.
Coomalie
Batchelor oval, fireworks display commencing at dark.
Food and drinks available from 6.30pm. Bring your own eskies, chairs and blankets.
No glass allowed.
Cox Peninsula
Sports complex, Forsyth Rd, firework display commences at dark.
Council and Community Volunteer Service barbecue with licensed bar.
All welcome from 5.30pm. No private fireworks allowed.
Jabiru
Firework display at 6pm, Lake Jabiru, Jabiru Sports & Social club.
Bring your own chairs, blankets and mozzie repellent.
Katherine
Showgrounds, firework display at 7.30pm.
Entertainment, drinks and refreshments available from 6.30pm.
Free entry through ticket office. BYO chairs. No alcohol or private fireworks please.
Tennant Creek
