Tier 5 – Procurement over $250,000

Pursuant to Procurement Direction PR5

Steps

  1. The Procuring Agency identifies the procurement requirement.

  2. The Procuring Agency develops an individual procurement plan.

  3. The Procuring Agency undertakes market research, including consultation with the Northern Territory Industry Capability Network to identify potential suppliers where it is unsure of the capability of suppliers within the Northern Territory.

  4. The Procuring Agency prepares a Request for Tender.

  5. The public tendering process is undertaken by Contract and Procurement Services.

  6. The Procuring Agency evaluates, accepts or rejects tenders, subject to Procurement Review Board endorsement.

  7. Both successful and unsuccessful tenderers are advised in writing of the public tender outcome.

  8. Unsuccessful tenderers are entitled to a debriefing by the Procuring Agency on request.

  9. Details of the successful quotation will be published in the Northern Territory Government Gazette.

    Note 1: A select tender process may be used in some instances. Where a select tender process is used, the Procuring Agency requires Procurement Review Board endorsement, Agency Minister approval and Minister responsible for Procurement endorsement, prior to the issue of the select tender.

    Note 2: Contractor Accreditation Limited (CAL) accreditation is mandatory for works and services contracts in a CAL accredited category that has an estimated value exceeding $50,000.
