General

Adult Learners' Week (ALW) is an opportunity to celebrate, promote and advance all forms of adult learning. Organisations can apply for a funding grant of up to $5000 to develop a new or expand an existing adult learning activity.​
The NT Equity Training Grants program is an initiative of the NT government and has been developed to increase training and employment opportunities for disadvantaged Territorians.​

Scholarships

The Bernie Kilgariff Memorial Scholarship is available to assist a young Alice Springs school leaver with completion of their tertiary studies in a medical/health related field. The scholarship provides a one-off payment of $3000 for the first year of study.​
A scholarship to undertake study or research in the United States is open to Australian citizens who are NT residents. It is open to people from all professional fields within any Fulbright Scholarship category. Research or study should focus on a topic relevant or beneficial to the Northern Territory. ​
Forty scholarships worth $3500 are available to school leavers to undertake fulltime degree studies.​
Twenty scholarships worth up to $4000 are available to Territorians studying Certificate III to Diploma level courses.​
Earth Science / Mining / Petroleum Scholarship The Minister for Primary Industry, Fisheries and Resources offers an annual scholarship for a young Territorian to undertake university study in the earth sciences, mining or petroleum related professional fields.​

Vocational Education and Training​​

Australian Apprenticeships attract financial assistance for eligible employers to help reduce the real cost of training.​
Financial incentives are available for private sector businesses who want to employ additional apprentices and trainees in areas with identified occupational shortages, and from disadvantaged groups.​
General Recurrent Program funds the Northern Territory public providers of Vocational Education and Training, which are the Charles Darwin University and Batchelor Institute of Indigenous Tertiary Education.​
Indigenous Responsive Program Funding specifically targets Indigenous people, for delivery of accredited and non-accredited training that links to work ready or employment on site in Indigenous communities. Indigenous communities can access funding at any time throughout the year. ​
Training in regional & remote areas ​Four regional and 10 remote training centre facilities are available to assist and support regional and remote communities in accessing vocational training programs.
Do you know a Territory woman wants to study a vocational education and training course that will assist them in returning to work after a period of absence? She may be eligible for a study grant!​
The Pre-employment Training Program provides specific training for unskilled or semi skilled people to gain essential industry skills, which may lead to increased opportunities to successfully complete an apprenticeship or gain skilled employment.​
The Productivity Places Program assists job seekers to acquire skills and gain lasting employment and assist existing workers to update or upgrade their skills.​
School to Work Transition​ ​This program is managed by the Department of Education and Training
The User Choice Program funds the delivery of structured training and assessment for full-time, part-time and school-based apprentices and trainees in the Northern Territory.​
VET in Schools The VETiS Program is run by the Department of Education and Training.​
The Workwear / Workgear bonus is a one-off grant that apprentices or trainees are eligible for after three months of employment if they began their training contract on or after 4 April 2005.​
