Choosing the right apprenticeship or traineeship is simply a matter of choosing the type of training that best suits your business.

All apprentices and trainees enter into a training contract. Under the training contract, the employer, apprentice and registered training organisation (RTO) work out a training plan for the apprenticeship / traineeship. Employment may be full-time or part-time. School-based students can start an apprenticeship or traineeship while still at school working one or two days per week (School-Based Apprenticeships and Traineeships).

Apprenticeships and traineeships are available at the following levels:

  • Australian Quality Framework (AQF) level 2
  • advanced, trade and technician AQF level 3 and 4
  • diploma and advanced diploma AQF level 5 and 6.

Apprenticeships and traineeships are available across all industries including, but not limited to, community services, agriculture, business, construction, automotive, engineering and manufacturing.
