The Northern Territory Government sponsors a variety of events throughout the year for the Defence community, including Defence Welcome Expos and Defence Family Days.

In 2010, the Northern Territory Government introduced the Chief Minister’s Anzac Spirit Study Tour Award for students in Year 9 and 10. The competition helps young Territorians explore the relevance of the Anzac spirit in today’s society and helps build an appreciation for Australia’s Defence Forces.

The Northern Territory Government has provided sponsorship to 1st Brigade to assist them in hosting monthly events for the families of members deployed overseas. These events provided the families with an opportunity to get together in a relaxed environment and receive information and support while their loved ones were deployed.
