​The Procurement Review Board was established under the Procurement Act 1995 to independently review government procurement activity undertaken by agencies to ensure adherence to the five fundamental procurement policy principles.

The Procurement Review Board is accountable to the Minister for Procurement and provides advice to the Minister responsible for Procurement on agency compliance with Government Procurement Policy and processes.

There are two boards, one in Darwin and one in Alice Springs, which meet on a weekly basis to consider matters submitted as described in the Procurement Directions.
