How long does it take for a quotation / tender to be awarded?
The NTG has a policy of awarding simple contracts within 30 days. However, the timeframes for award are dictated largely by the complexity of the requirement and the number of responses received. A good guide to how long the Department expects to take is the validity period nominated in the quotation and tender documents.

How do I arrange a debriefing on my quotation / tender?
You can request a debriefing in regards to why your offer was unsuccessful from the Agency that called the quotation/tender. Details of who to contact are contained in the Notice of Unsuccessful Tender.
Do I need to come in and sign my contract?
As a general rule, the Northern Territory Government tenders on an offer and acceptance model. As such, once the acceptance of an offer is received (this can be in the form of a Notice of Acceptance, Service Order or Purchase Order) there is no need for a separate contract to be signed. If for some reason a different model is used, you will receive advice from us that you are required to attend a location to execute (sign) the contract documents. All NPWC Construction Contracts for example do need to be signed.

Five tender boxes are located in the major population areas of Darwin, Palmerston, Katherine, Tennant Creek and Alice Springs. View the location details for the tender boxes.
Can I lodge in any tender box?
Requests for Tender can be lodged in any of the tender boxes located throughout the NT. Requests for Quotation however can only be lodged in the tender box nominated.
Can I make changes to my offer once it is lodged?
You are able to make changes to your offer up to the closing date and time specified. This can be done by submitting a new and complete offer that is clearly marked as superseding your previous offer.
Can I be advised of tenders that I am interested in when they become available?
Unfortunately Tenders Online currently does not offer that service.
What is an addendum?
An addendum is a written notification of a change to the Request for Tender / Quotation document (for example, the extension of the closing date). People wishing to respond to a tender / quotation should take these notifications into account when preparing their response and are required to acknowledge receipt of the addendum on the tender form. Only changes made via a formal addendum will have any force in the subsequent contract.
How do I know if an addendum has been issued on Quotation / Request for Tender?
Any addendum issued on a Request for Tender / Quotation will be sent out via email to all those respondents who have registered with Contract and Procurement Services at the time of either downloading or collecting the tender. It is for this reason that all respondents must register with Contract and Procurement Services rather than accepting copies of Tender / Quotation from other sources. The addendum will also be included in the downloadable file and any hardcopy tenders collected subsequent to the addendum being issued.
