This home-grown Northern Territory Government initiative offers information, funding and development services to enhance business performance, profitability, employment levels and market penetration. In a nutshell, it will help your business and the Territory to grow.
Territory Business Growth is proudly presented through the Department of Business and Employment and offers Territory businesses the opportunity to work closely with highly skilled business improvement consultants to achieve better business growth. Territory Business Growth provides assistance to Territory businesses to engage suitably qualified consultants to deliver the programs.
Northern Territory businesses can now choose from a range of Territory Business Growth programs to improve individual performance and, at the same time, play a vital role in advancing regional economic development, employment and wealth-creation capabilities.
How do I start the process?
Prospective Territory Business Growth clients can be identified by Department of Business and Employment Client Managers who will introduce them to the program or, be introduced to the program by their business improvement consultant.
In all cases, the prospective client and the Client Manager meet to identify the suitability of the client for the program, the appropriate program for the needs of the client and the scope or requirements of the identified program.
What are the general criteria?
In general, the criteria for Territory Business Growth Programs are:
your business must be a profitable, ongoing concern
your business must have a turnover of $300 000 per annum
businesses must be Northern Territory based and be able to employ Northern Territory residents
business has operated for a minimum of two years
registered in the NT
genuinely seeking to enhance business performance
possess the resources to implement the recommended outcomes from the program, and
prepared to dedicate the required time and attention necessary to complete the program.
Preference will be given to Northern Territory owned and operated businesses, particularly those businesses that are unique, have potential to export or replace imports, can expand to create more employment opportunities, or are in target areas for growth in the Northern Territory.
Program selection
The Client Manager, in consultation with the client, recommends an appropriate program for the client's needs and stage of business development. The type of program selected from the scheduled programs should offer the best return to the client and objectives of the program.
Agreement to the recommended program must be received from the client prior to seeking confirmation/approval from the Executive Director Business Liaison or nominee.
