NT regional competitions

The Territory’s best young skilled people are being challenged to put their talents to the test against each other in the 2011 WorldSkills Northern Territory regional competitions, being held in the Darwin region.

The regional competitions will begin in May this year. Representatives from WorldSkills Australia will host an information session covering competition requirements, the next Australian national competition, as well as a chance for question and answers. The information session will be held:

See the 2009 NT regional competition Gold medallists from each of the categories (pdf 25 kb). These winners formed Team NT and competed at the WorldSkills National Competition in May 2010.

National competition

The 2010 NT national competition was held from 7 to 9 May 2010 at the Brisbane Convention Centre. Team NT consisted of nine competitors with two talented Territorians bringing home medals. Kirsty Bulluss of I am Hair and Spa Lounge won a silver medal for hairdressing and Brienna Logie of Kormilda College / Charles Darwin University won bronze for tourism. They are the first Territorians in several years to win medals at a WorldSkills Australia final, the nation's premier showcase of youth skill and trade excellence. Another Territorian, Todd Bell of Universal Engineering performed exceptionally well in the open welding category, securing fifth place. More than 500 students from across Australia competed in more than 50 categories during the three day final.​
