The Chamber of Commerce NT – the voice of Territory business – is the largest employer association in the Territory and a foundation member of the Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI). ACCI is the largest single organisation giving a united voice for industry and commerce in Australia. ConocoPhillips 'Energising Communities in the Territory'

East Arnhem Shire Council (EASC)

East Arnhem Shire Council is a Local Government body delivering a large and unique range of municipal and community services in East Arnhem Region of the Northern Territory. 

Driven by an elected Council, the Shire recognises the importance of facilitating the development of all employees and seeks to create a ‘Learning Organisation’, defined as “one in which all people, individually and collectively are continually increasing capacity through employment based training programs and incentives”.

EASC was the first Northern Territory based entity to introduce a Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) which aims to build positive relationships between indigenous and non-indigenous people. As one of the largest employers in Arnhem Land, EASC recognises the values and contribution of local Yolgnu people with 68% of the 450 strong workforce being Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander.

Gil Court Memorial Fund

Sponsorship of the Austin Asche Apprentice of the Year award is in honour of the late Mr Gil Court who sadly died several years ago after battling cancer. 

Gil worked tirelessly within education and training for more than forty years. In late 1981, he joined the Ranger Mine where he worked for ten years as the training manager, before joining the vocational training advisory network and establishing the Mining Industries Training Advisory Board in the Northern Territory.

An insightful and considered man, Gil gave personal and professional assistance in a manner which influenced many people’s lives over the years.

Sponsorship of the Austin Asche Apprentice of the Year award is in memory of Gil and his contribution to industry.

Group Training NT (GTNT)

GTNT is a local, Territory wide company specialising in workforce development, management and planning. GTNT can assist you attract and retain people to build your business, industry and / or region.

Operating for more than 20 years, GTNT is the largest employer of apprentices in the Northern Territory with more than 500 apprentices / trainees and supported by more than 150 host employers. GTNT screen, recruit and employ apprentices / trainees and then place them with ‘host’ employers, usually from small to medium sized enterprises.

Territory Technology Solutions employs 75 staff; a far cry from the humble beginnings of a single–person operation in 1999. Their staff have always been important to them. Territory Technology Solutions’ commitment to supporting and growing the IT industry in the Territory is demonstrated by their active support of an apprenticeship scheme that currently employs ten trainees. These staff occupy a variety of roles in the business including accounts, help-desk and technical workshop. They are trained in all aspects of these roles by in-house mentors and progress through the business accordingly. Territory Technology Solutions’ commitment to training has received recognition through being awarded the Group Training Host Employer of the Year in 2008. In 2010 they were proud to see one of their staff receive the NT Training Award for Trainee of the Year.
