The Australian Training Awards are the peak, national awards for vocational education and training, recognising innovation and excellence in the training sector. These awards are the culmination of state and territory awards with winners from each competing in the national finals.
The awards acknowledge small and large businesses, not-for-profit organisations, unique collaborations, registered training organisations and individuals from across Australia for their outstanding commitment and contributions to building a skilled, productive and prosperous Australia through their involvement in VET.
Finalists from the individual categories are particularly inspiring with many sharing how VET has improved their confidence, and provided them with greater employability, greater job security, greater earning potential and, for many, a more fulfilled life!
For employer categories, there are many empowering stories of achievement with many sharing proof that increasing the skills of their workforce has led to increases in productivity, happier and more satisfied staff, and noticeable increases in their bottom line.
Awards will also be presented in the National Focus categories, which acknowledge and reward the exemplary role played by those organisations and leaders who have made it their aim to develop a more skilled, flexible and socially inclusive workforce.
This year, the awards will be held in Melbourne at Etihad Stadium on Friday 16 November 2012.
