The Defence Support Industry Awards recognise outstanding achievements by local businesses which are consistent with, or have contributed to, the aims of the Northern Territory Defence Support Industry Development Strategy during the year.
Chief Minister’s Award – recognising best overall contribution to the NT Defence support industry
Minister for Defence Support Award – recognition of achievements by an emerging Defence business that has added to the local industry’s capability to service the needs of Defence.
The achievement can be specific to the business nominated or it can be to the industry in general.
The nominees will be judged against elements of the Northern Territory Defence Support Industry Development Strategy vision, which is to develop a strong, sustainable and growing Defence support industry with capability aligned to the needs of Defence.
Those elements are:
workforce development
building business capabilities
profiling and promotion of industry capability
establishment of strategic partnerships
research and development
linking industry to opportunity
development of strategic infrastructure.
The awards are designed to enhance the winners‘ reputation amongst industry peers locally and nationally, as a business that has made an outstanding achievement in helping to grow this important sector. The awards will raise the winners’ profile in the Defence support sector and contribute to the continued growth and capability of support for the future needs of Defence.
Announcement of winner
The awards will be announced and presented on the night of the AIDN-NT Defence Connect Gala Dinner.
