Minister for Regional Development Karl Hampton today announced Fran Kilgariff as the new Executive Director of Regional Development.
“Fran brings a wealth of experience to her new role, as former Mayor and long time resident she understands the issues facing regional development in the Territory,” said Mr Hampton.
Minister Hampton said that headquartering Regional Development in Alice Springs is a key part of the Henderson Government’s move to devolve decision making to regional centres.
“The announcement of the Executive Director is an important step in the department’s establishment in Alice Springs and Ms Kilgariff is a fantastic addition to our team,” said Mr Hampton.
“The location of Regional Development in Alice Springs means that a total of 14 of the departments 24 staff will be based in Alice Springs and other regional centres, including the Chief Executive of Department Regional Development, Primary Industry, Fisheries and Resources.”
Recruitment is continuing for several further Regional Development positions in Alice Springs.
