Timmy Djawa Burarrwanga

Timmy Djawa Burarrwanga

Timmy belongs to the Gumatj Clan group. He was born at Yirrkala and his homeland is Bawaka in Port Bradshaw, North East Arnhem Land. He is currently the Chairman of the Yirrkala Dhanbul Community Association Inc and manages his family cultural tourism business, Bawaka Cultural Experiences. Timmy is a board member of the Miwatj Health Aboriginal Corporation Inc.

John Tourish

John Tourish

John is the lease holder of the Walkabout Lodge and Tavern in Nhulunbuy. Although a relative new comer to the East Arnhem region, he is an active member of the community by way of participation within community events, sponsorship of local organisations, an active member of the local Chamber of Commerce, and supporter of the local Community Patrol program. John is also a former member of NSW Economic Advisory Councils including, Finance and Business Development Committee.

Damien started working with ALCAN as a Training Officer for YNOTS (YBE, Nabalco Operating Training School) late November 2004. Damien was born and has lived most
of his life on the Gove Peninsula, East Arnhem Land. Damien is heavily involved with community relations particularly in the workforce focusing on strategies that will develop sustainable employment opportunities for Yolngu people. Damien fi rst started with YNOTS back in 2001 when it was one of the fi rst training schools, over the years the direction of YNOTS has changed signifi cantly to fi t in with the cultural considerations of Yolngu people.

David Suter

David has lived and worked in the East Arnhem Region for the last 35 years and brings relevant local experience and knowledge to the Committee. David is the current Vice Chair of the Chamber of Commerce NT, East Arnhem region (2005 - 06).

Rodney Neil

Rodney Neil has lived in Nhulunbuy for the past 19 years. Rodney has business interests in Arafura Publishing (NT) Ptd Ltd (Arafura Times) and the Nhulunbuy Bakery. Rodney is currently employed by Alcan Gove Pty Ltd, and has formal qualifi cations in Accounting. Being a long term Nhulunbuy resident Rodney has had the opportunity of involvement with many community and business organisations including; membership of East Arnhem Land Tourist Association, the Chamber of Commerce NT and Rotary.

Narelle is the CDEP Manager with the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations for the East
Arnhem Region.

Charles Rue

Charles Rue

Charles Rue is the Manager for Community Affairs, Alcan Gove Pty Ltd. Charles came to Nhulunbuy from Darwin three years ago, but was also stationed here with the Northern Territory Police from 1993 - 96. Charles is responsible for community relations in the Gove Peninsula Region with Indigenous and non Indigenous stakeholders. He is an active member of the community and is involved with many community interest groups and associations within the Gove Region including; Combined Reference Group, Harmony Inc, Indigenous Employment Action Group, Youth Development Committee, Youth Interagency
Network and Surf Lifesaving.

Daryl Stewart

Daryl Stewart

Daryl Stewart is the current owner of Gove Pharmacy in Nhulunbuy and lives in Gove with his family. Daryl is also a shareholder in Nightcliff Pharmacy in Darwin and has lived in the Territory for eight years. Daryl is the vice president of the Pharmacy Guild (NT Branch). Daryl has also completed a Masters in Business Administration at NTU. As both the community Pharmacist and a business owner in East Arnhem Land, Daryl has regular involvement with a range of community organisations.

Adrian has had a long association with the people or North East Arnhemland and had previously been the CEO for Yirrkala Community Government Council Inc.

Dhimurru have a range of projects including Permits for local beaches and camping areas together with a variety of Land Management activities.
