Economic Development Committee - East Arnhem

The Special purpose town of Nhulunbuy in North East Arnhemland is the major regional service centre for the population.  Initially established to service the nearby Bauxite mine, the town has expanded to include a range of community services.

The Economic Development Committee, formed in 2006 has set a series of priority projects aimed at improving education and training leading to real local jobs, addressing the Infrastructure issues relating to year round access and delivery of goods to the more remote centres in the region and enhancing the tourism potential of community homelands.
