• Investigate future community requirements for services i.e. assisted residential living/ aged care
• Contact and liaise with local community groups requiring additional support to progress projects
• Monitor and provide input to community interest initiatives i.e. alcohol management, neighbourhood watch

Tourism

• Encourage tourism operators to utilise service offered by local Tourism NT Industry Development Officer
• Encourage industry support of tourism based short courses to improve visitor experiences and increase skills in available workforce
• Encourage visitors to stay longer through promotion of features and unique experiences

Housing

• Encourage private investment in housing sector for low cost housing
• Encourage additional GEH to be provided to increase staff recruitment and retention

Training

• Increase trades training in Katherine to increase participation rates
• Liaise with CDU to encourage trade training opportunities in Katherine and increased utilisation of NT Rural College facilities
• Encourage Government and private investment in Low Security Training Facilities

Small Business Development and Support

• Support and encourage small business development through Growing Katherine Business Ltd - Sirolli Enterprise Facilitation Project
• Support “Buy Local” campaigns
• Support short training courses in key industry areas i.e. hospitality, customer service
• Encourage private investment initiatives in Katherine Region
