Growing and developing Territory Indigenous business

If you are Indigenous and want to talk to someone about how to start a new business or developing your current business, then the Indigenous Business Development Team are the team for you.

What does the Indigenous Business Development Team do?

  • Support Indigenous people to pursue their business aspirations and enterprise development goals
  • Identify and work towards removing barriers to Indigenous people taking up business opportunities
  • Identify ongoing support for Indigenous business owners
  • Assist Indigenous businesses to maximise opportunities associated with major projects throughout the Territory.

How does the Indigenous Business Development Team do this?

  • Working one on one with potential business owners 
  • Providing start-up information to potential Indigenous entrepreneurs
  • Providing information on assistance and funding sources including facilitation of proposals where appropriate.
  • Sourcing technical support within the NT Government to assist in the development of business ideas and product development.
  • Maintaining contact and following up with Indigenous businesses regarding their projects and developments and further assistance which may benefit them.

Regional Officers

With officers based in Darwin, Alice Springs and Nhulunbuy and available in Katherine and Tennant Creek, the Indigenous Business Development Team has an extensive regional presence and is  ideally placed to provide assistance to all communities throughout the Territory.
