Climate Change

Climate Change
Climate change will impact on the weather, land, sea flora and fauna of the Northern Territory.. Climate change will impact on DoR client industries both directly and indirectly through the national and global policy response to climate change and the effect of climate change on our competitors and markets.
A range of adaptation and mitigation measures will be required by industries to cope with climate change. Because the degree of climate change varies through time, the impact on industries will change through time. While climate change will present opportunities as well as threats, these vary for the different sectors, with some likely to be more negatively impacted than others.
DoR recognises climate change as a key strategic issue as everything we do may influence and could be influenced by climate change.
This web page is an initial collection and presentation of the information and research that has been produced or captured by DoR. There are two major types of media stored on this page - Fact Sheets and Video Presentations.

Climate Change and the NT: scenarios for an even more sunburnt country
The existing warming trends being experienced in Australia are consistent with expected changes. Wide-ranging impacts are likely. In contrast, the past rainfall trends in the north of Australia are not necessarily consistent with projections of future rainfall. What are decisions that you may make that need to include these changes? How may you deal with the large uncertainties? Where may opportunities lie?
