Fees

There is a $30 fee to submit an application for Government Information. In addition, the Act provides for RDPIFR to apply processing fees to cover the cost of searching for and providing information. The costs are set out in the Information Regulations.

RDPIFR may require you to pay a deposit on the estimated cost of obtaining the Government Information you have requested. A deposit of $25 will be requested for estimated amounts less than $100. For estimated amounts greater than $100, a deposit equal to 25% of the total will be requested. 

The application will not proceed until you have either agreed to pay the deposit and the final fee, or an application to waive or reduce fees has been resolved. Please note that you will not be asked to pay an amount greater than the estimate provided by RDPIFR.

There is no fee to submit an application for Personal Information, nor for searching for Personal Information. However, there may be fees for photocopying and other costs associated with providing you with the information.

You may apply to have the fees reduced or waived. There is no fee for submitting an application for fees to be waived or reduced. [ Download application form to waive or reduce fees].

Forms

 Application for Internal Review made under the Information Act 2002

You may use this form if you have been refused access to information or correction of personal information, or if you want a review of a decision to charge a fee. Lodge the completed form with Department of Regional Development, Primary Industry, Fisheries and Resources. An application for internal review must be lodged within 30 days of the notification of decision on an application to access government information (including personal information) or correct personal information. No fee applies for an application to review a decision.
