Corporate Sponsorship

Corporate Sponsorship
RDPIFR defines sponsorship as an agreement for the department to:
- Provide financial or other support to an outside organisation in return for some tangible benefit, in the form of promotion and publicity or associated outcomes aligned to the goals and objectives of the department
- Receive financial or other support from an outside organisation to assist in the production of events and other department projects and activities.
Sponsorship does not include financial or other support received through Grants, Gifts, Research Funding and Scholarships.
The principles and processes outlined below apply to all sponsorships provided and received by RDPIFR.
Purpose
To ensure the Department of Regional Development, Primary Industry, Fisheries and Resources (RDPIFR) is clear and transparent in its allocation of its resources, financial or in kind, to corporate sponsorships.
Sponsorship Principles
- There must be no real or perceived conflict of interest between the objectives of RDPIFR and those of the sponsorship recipient/provider. The sponsorship arrangement should not impose or imply conditions that would limit or appear to limit RDPIFR’s ability to carry out its functions fully and impartially.
- Employees of the department should not receive any personal benefit from the sponsorship arrangement. Personal benefit is defined to include the receipt of cash or goods and services but does not include the opportunity to undertake professional development as part of a sponsorship arrangement.
- Sponsorship does not involve explicit endorsement of the sponsorship recipients/providers or their products.
- Sponsorship arrangements must provide a tangible benefit for RDPIFR and or the Minister i.e. offer promotional opportunities and or engagement with stakeholders
- Activities, projects and organisations sponsored/providing sponsorship should be consistent with the agency’s vision, business and values as stated in the Strategic Plan.
- Activities, projects and events sponsored should offer benefits to the Territory and Territorians now or in the future.
- Sponsorship will not be considered for or received from political parties, religious groups or events or activities that are commercial or divisive in communities.
