Growing Advice

The Crops, Forestry and Horticulture Division provides applied research, development and extension services to facilitate plant-based industry development in the Northern Territory.  A team of forty staff based in Darwin, Katherine, Ti Tree and Alice Springs bring a range of skills to achieve that.

The objective of this web site is to provide a comprehensive information service of R&D previously conducted as well as hands-on information for producers and the general public.

The Post Entry Quarantine (PEQ) facility is licensed by the Commonwealth Government's Australian Quarantine Inspection Service (AQIS) and is the largest medium level plant quarantine facility in tropical Australia. It facilitates the importation of tropical plant material, servicing the horticultural industry, home gardeners and the NT Government Research Horticulturalists.

2009 Mango Crop Forecast

The mango crop forecast will continue to run for 2009. The flowering survey will be available from late May. For further information click here.

Events

A Mango Deliverance workshop on flowering and fruit set will be held in Darwin and Katherine in mid to late June. more information will be available closer to the date.
