Mining Compliance

The Mining Compliance Division is responsible for issuing Authorisations for operational activities on mining tenements. The Division is also responsible for remediation securities and ensuring operators comply with approved Mining Management Plans (MMP).

The primary legislation is the Mining Management Act. Any company that proposes to undertake works that would cause “substantial disturbance” (see s35(3) of the Act) is required to have an Authorisation.
