Energy Policy 

Energy is fundamental to development. It underpins our lifestyles. The availability and price of energy has a major impact on economic growth, job creation and the quality of life of Territorians. The Department of Regional Development, Primary Industry, Fisheries and Resources coordinated the development of a draft Northern Territory Energy Policy. The Policy is succinct, and is designed to ensure that adequate, reliable and competitively priced is available to encourage the development of industry in the Northern Territory and to improve the lifestyles of Territorians. An Action Plan to achieve the Policy objectives is currently being developed.

The Department participates in national energy market arrangements that are being developed by the Ministerial Council on Energy and contributes to the national development and delivery of energy efficiency programs.
