A: To fossick in the Northern Territory you must hold a Fossicker's Permit issued under the Northern Territory Mining Act.

A: There are many ways to search on previous exploration, depending on what it is you are looking for.
a) Searching the Titles Information System (TIS).
b) Searching the Industry Reports Management System (IRMS) online for open file Minerals or Petroleum exploration reports to research previous exploration activities.
c) Visit the Minerals and Energy Information Centre and browse through the archived hardcopies of tenement maps.
