Tin

The Northern Territory contains a variety of small- to medium-sized tin deposits that have produced over 5,000 t of tin concentrate in the last 50 years. Current resources for the NT are estimated at 30 kt of tin. Deposits in the Pine Creek Orogen account for 98% of past tin production and 97% of identified resources.

Tin mineralisation is present in a number of deposit styles including: polymetallic veins; pegmatite Sn (Ta); greisen Sn; and placer. These have been mined as small deposits in the Pine Creek Orogen, Murphy Inlier and Arunta Region.
