The Davenport Province unconformably overlies the Warramunga Formation, which is exposed in the Warramunga Province, and is in turn unconformably overlain by the Palaeozoic Georgina and Wiso basins to the east and west. Stratigraphic equivalents of these rocks extends into the Aileron Province.
