The Fisheries Division consults on a regular basis with Department of the Chief Minister, the Justice Department and Office of Aboriginal Development on matters relating to Aboriginal communities specifically, and on matters to be addressed by the consultative committees.

The Fisheries Division and the fishing industry will continue to work closely with Aboriginal groups to ensure that they are represented in the management/consultative process. Group and community needs will be discussed and considered in light of relevant Northern Territory legislation.
