Strong Families: The Roots for Strong Governance

Ms Theodora Narndu and Ms Catherine Phillips

This presentation puts forward the belief that strength comes from families and then flows onto all forms of government. We need to build up our families if we are to fulfil our responsibilities to our land, our parents our grandparents and our children. This is true for all us

At Wadeye, Kardu Darrikardu Pumemanpinu, a program built on strong culture and proper governance structures, is working to support families. It is being helped in this work by the Department of Family and Community Services (FaCS). Theodora and Catherine will talk about the growing partnership between the women of the Kardu Darrikardu program and FaCS.
- How each group supports the other.
- What we teach and learn from each other.
What we can do to move forward together and not repeat the mistakes of the past.
