Mining and Petroleum Support

The Mining and Petroleum Support Unit is involved in the growth of service and supply industries to the petroleum and mining sectors.

Role

We actively work with the Northern Territory Industry Capability Network (NTICN), Chamber of Commerce NT, Northern Territory Minerals Council and others including our extensive network of connections throughout Australia and internationally to:

• Identify business opportunities;
• Engage proponents on local content issues;
• Communicate and promote business opportunities;
• Identify and promote export opportunities;
• Promote the Northern Territory as a Supply and Service Centre;
• Attract new businesses and expand capabilities;
• Foster alliances;
• Build the skills base within local business; and
• Work closely with industry, industry associations and Territory and Federal government agencies.

The Unit provides this support within the Northern Territory, across Northern Australia, offshore and for major projects in Eastern Indonesia.
