Membership

Thank you for taking an interest in the Government House Foundation. There is no doubt that our community cherishes the old building and gardens and the Territory history that Government House represents. A great deal of support has been received from Territorians and interstate visitors who wish to see it presented to optimum effect, both now and in the long-term.

The Foundation was formed on 11 December 1998 to conserve and enhance Government House, to encourage public interest in this unique and valuable heritage site, to raise funds independent of government, to promote the unique and important historical role of the House, and to enable more Australians to participate in the life of the House. You too can help achieve our objectives by joining the Foundation today.

Newsletters advising you of all the Foundation activities and progress on enhancements to the House and Foundation projects.

Special Membership

If you would like to make a more substantial donation to the Foundation, Platinum, Gold, Silver and Bronze Special Memberships are available. These provide the option of a commitment over a five-year period.

Within the Special Membership category, a Member may pledge a donation by making a payment of at least one-fifth of the pledge at the date of the pledge and on each anniversary over the five year period (the “eligible period”). A donation need not be only by way of cash but may also include a “non cash donation” (with a value ascribed to it) of labour, goods or services.

Each of these Special Levels of Membership attracts its own valuable benefits.
