Her Honour the Honourable Sally Thomas AM, Administrator of the Northern Territory, and Mr Duncan McNeill, invite Territorians to a Community Reception at Government House from 5.30 pm to 7.00 pm on Friday, 21 June 2013.
The Community Reception is a new initiative that originated from the Administrator’s interest to provide more opportunities for residents of the Northern Territory to visit Government House as an invited guest. Through this initiative, Her Honour looks forward to engaging with and meeting Territorians, and sharing the history and splendour of Government House.
Closing date for registration
To be formally invited by the Administrator of the Northern Territory to the reception, please register your interest by Friday 24 May 2013.
Conditions of registration
That you and your guest are:
- Resident of the Northern Territory
- Aged 18 years or over
(Proof of identity may be required to gain entry into Government House).
Selection of guests
A fair and equitable registration process will be undertaken. Eligible guests will be registered on a first in basis until the maximum number of guests is reached. Early registration is, therefore, highly recommended.

What to wear
Visitors wear business attire when attending a reception at Government House as guests of the Administrator. Gentlemen wear long trousers, long sleeved shirt and tie, while women wear day or after five dress.
Photographs
Photographs taken at the community reception may be used for public display on the Government House website. If there is sensitivity to this intention, please contact Government House.
House and gardens
For receptions held at Government House (including the Community Reception), the House itself and the gardens are not open to guests. Please note, however, that Government House will be completely open – majestic rooms and gardens – to the community on 24 August 2013 for all to enjoy.
